Visit with the Thompsons
A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to spend the weekend with our friends, the Thompsons. They had planned so many fun surprises for us, and we enjoyed the time with them so very much.
We went to a pumpkin festival where the people of the town were trying to beat the world record for carved pumpkins.
This was their third year trying for the record, and they made it to their goal of 32,000 pumpkins.

Later that evening we went to hear the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
It was such a treat.
Botanical Gardens
The following morning we spent some hours just viewing all the beautiful things at the garden. It was a nice, relaxing time.

There was a special garden that had little electric trains running all through it.
There were many famous places depicted in the train garden, including the statue of liberty, Frank Lloyd Wright structures, Wrigley field, Hollywood, the White House, Mount Rushmore and lots more.
